Harvard College Hygiene Campaign Club

Purpose Statement

The Hygiene Campaign strives to address women\x{e2}\x{80}\x{99}s health issues on two fronts: education and action. By educating members of the Harvard community on women\x{e2}\x{80}\x{99}s health issues, The Hygiene Campaign aims to de-stigmatize female bodies and raise awareness about the gendered inequalities in health care. The Hygiene Campaign Club will work to educate the Harvard community through holding campus-wide discussions, attending events on campus such as Women and Gender Studies lectures and Sexual Assault Awareness Month events, and providing a safe space for members of the Harvard Community to reach out to our club with questions and concerns about the current state of women\x{e2}\x{80}\x{99}s health initiatives and any ongoing issues surrounding women\x{e2}\x{80}\x{99}s health. In addition to the educational aspects of the campaign, The Hygiene Campaign Club will organize action-oriented programs, such as donation drives. To make a tangible difference in the surrounding community, The Hygiene Campaign will donate feminine hygiene products to homeless women and volunteer at battered women\x{e2}\x{80}\x{99}s shelters and adolescent clinics in Boston. By combining both action and education, The Hygiene Campaign strives to address not only the dire present need among subjugated women for equal health care opportunities, but also the systemic issues that underlie the disparity in opportunity and care for women everywhere.
